Sheikh Hamdan education and career path: How a Sandhurst graduate rose to Dubai's throne and the UAE Ministry of Defence

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, was promoted to Lieutenant General in the UAE Armed Forces after completing one year as Minister of Defence. Educated at Sandhurst and the London School of Economics, he has held various leadership roles, including Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. Since his appointment, he has focused on modernising the military and building regional defence partnerships while upholding his family’s longstanding legacy in UAE governance.
