"Controversy Surrounding Entry Ban Proposal for Former PM Oli in Koshi Province Meeting"

Allegations have emerged regarding a proposal to ban K.P. Sharma Oli, the chairperson of Nepal's Communist Party (NCP) from entering the Viratnagar – Koshi Province area, sparking controversy and dissatisfaction.

During Wednesday's Koshi Provincial Assembly meeting, concerns were raised by the party's lawmaker Tilak Kumar Menyangbo, emphasizing discussions held within the party to impose an entry ban on the former Prime Minister, considering it unfortunate and a step against the constitution.

The ongoing resolution journey of the NCP, initiated from Jhulaghat in the Far Western region, has reached Lumbini Province. The plan is to conclude the journey after reaching Chivabhanjyang in Koshi Province. Amidst discussions about renaming Koshi Province, the Sangh Parivar contemplating an entry ban on Oli has triggered discontent among lawmakers.

Menyangbo expressed his distress, stating, "It's saddening to discuss imposing an entry ban even within the country. I urge against such undemocratic measures."

With the demand for the removal of the name "Koshi" and a call for re-enlistment in Province 1, the United Struggle Committee has warned leaders of the province to expect entry bans at various locations for voting in favor of the "Koshi" name.
