Netherlands has 42 of these old F16 fighter jets. And Ukraine wants 100.

The issue is that of the 32 Ukrainian pilots ready for training just 8 speak English. So before they start training, they have been sent to English language course.

These old F-16s lack the BVR ( beyond visual range ) targeting capabilities provided by new AIM-9X air to air missiles and helmet mounted sights - putting them at a HUGE DISADVANTAGE compared to even current Ukrainian Mig 29s and Su-27.

But F-16s can carry nuclear warheads. But the aircraft’s are sitting ducks to S-400 and S-500.

Which is why Putin said “these F-16s CANNOT be based out of Ukrainian airfields and used in the battle. If they are based outside Ukraine - Baltic countries or Poland, and used by Ukrainian pilots in the battlefield - then these hangars based in Baltic states or Poland will become LEGITIMATE MILITARY TARGETS. This will also mean that these country ( ies ) has entered into a military CONFLICT with Russia and they will be affected.”
