According to the archaka of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, PM Narendra Modi took sankalp to become Prime Minister of India for the 3rd time inside the sanctum sanctorum of Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

After taking sankalp to fulfill his wish, he worshipped Lord Shiva with Panchopachar, Shodashopchar, and Rajopchar along with mantras from Rudra Sukta.

According to the President of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, Prof. Nagendra Pandey, this is a tradition of worshipping Lord Shiva for fulfilling wishes.

This is not the first time Narendra Modi is performing this puja. He had performed Shodashopachar puja of Baba Vishwanath for the first time in 2014 and for the second time in 2019 with the wish of victory.
