The Four Friends and the Hunter

Once upon a time in a big green forest, there lived four best friends: a deer, a crow, a mouse, and a tortoise. They spent their days playing together and taking care of each other. One day, while the deer was out looking for food, a hunter set a trap and caught him in a big net! The deer was very scared and didn’t know what to do.

The deer called out for help, and the other three friends came running. The smart mouse quickly started chewing on the ropes of the net with his sharp teeth to free the deer. But just as the deer was about to be freed, the hunter came back. He was very angry to see that the deer was escaping and, instead, grabbed the slow tortoise who couldn’t run away fast enough.

The clever friends quickly made another plan. The deer ran ahead to distract the hunter, pretending to be injured. The crow flew over the hunter's head, making noise to confuse him, and the mouse rushed to the tortoise to chew the ropes and free him. Together, they tricked the hunter, saved their friend, and all ran back safely to their home in the forest.

Moral: True friends help each other and can overcome any danger.

The Elephant and the Sparrows

There was once a huge, strong elephant who lived near a tree. In the same tree, a family of tiny sparrows had built their cozy little nest. One day, the elephant was in a bad mood and angrily knocked down the tree branch where the sparrows’ nest was. The poor sparrows were left without a home and were very sad.

The sparrows decided to ask their friends for help. They called a woodpecker, a clever frog, and a fly. Together, they made a plan. First, the fly buzzed around the elephant's head to distract him, and while he was swatting at the fly, the woodpecker swooped down and pecked the elephant's eyes, making him blind. Then, the frog sat by a deep swamp and croaked loudly. Thinking the frog was near water, the elephant walked towards the sound and fell into the swamp, where he got stuck.

Moral: When we work together, even the smallest creatures can defeat the biggest problems.

The Greedy Crane and the Crab

A long time ago, an old crane lived near a pond. He was too weak to catch fish anymore and was always hungry. One day, he thought of a trick to get food. He told the fish and crabs in the pond, “I’ve heard that this pond is drying up soon! If you want, I can carry you to a bigger, safer pond where you’ll be safe.”

The fish believed the crane and let him carry them away one by one. But instead of taking them to a new pond, the greedy crane ate all of them! When it was the turn of a clever crab, the crab suspected something was wrong. The crab asked the crane to carry him too, but as soon as they were far from the pond, the crab saw the bones of the fish the crane had eaten.

The crab quickly grabbed the crane’s neck with his strong claws and said, “Take me back to the pond, or I’ll cut off your head!” The crane, scared for his life, took the crab back, and the clever crab returned safely to the pond.

Moral: Greed and lies will always lead to trouble.

The Cat, the Monkey, and the Chestnuts

In a small village, there lived a clever monkey and a cat. They were good friends but the monkey often played tricks on the cat. One day, the monkey and the cat found some chestnuts roasting in a fire. The monkey wanted to eat them but didn’t want to burn his paws.

So, the clever monkey said to the cat, “You are so quick and smart! You should be the one to pull the chestnuts from the fire!” Flattered by the monkey’s words, the cat reached into the fire with his paws to pull out the chestnuts. The poor cat burned his paws while the monkey happily ate all the chestnuts.

Moral: Don’t let others trick you into doing their dirty work.

The Blue Jackal

Once, there was a jackal who wandered into a village in search of food. While running from a pack of dogs, the jackal accidentally fell into a vat of blue dye. When he crawled out, his fur was a bright blue color! The jackal realized that with his new color, he could trick the other animals in the jungle.

The jackal returned to the forest and told the animals, “I am your new king, sent by the gods. You must all follow me!” The animals, seeing his strange blue color, believed him and obeyed his every command.

For a while, the jackal enjoyed being king, but one night he heard the howls of other jackals in the distance. Forgetting that he was pretending to be someone else, he howled along with them. The other animals realized he was just a regular jackal and not their king. They were angry at being tricked and chased him out of the forest.

Moral: Lying and pretending to be someone you’re not will always get you into trouble.
