In Kathmandu Metropolitan City, 68,866 applications have been received for free vocational training, with 43,058 applying for training through the 'Skill Fair'. Under the 'Prosperity of Employment and Income, Kathmandu's Prosperity' program, 15,000 individuals will receive free training, aiming to provide employment or self-employment to 5,000 of them. In Dolpa's Tripurasundari Municipality-4, a fire broke out in the community forest, resulting in the death of one child. The District Hospital in Dolpa provided treatment to the deceased, identified as 10-year-old Sulesh Budha, according to Chief District Officer Tulsi Prasad Dahal.

Preparations are underway to send the other two children for further treatment to Kathmandu, as informed by Chief District Officer Dahal.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning when the children went to collect wild mushrooms near the village. Despite efforts to rescue them and rush them to the district hospital in the evening, the injured child could not be saved, said Dr. Akhanda Upadhyay.

K.P. Oli Vows to Continue Active Politics for Another 20 Years to Lead the Country on the Right Path

Kathmandu — CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has emphasized the current necessity to lead the country towards good governance and development. Addressing the 11th district convention of CPN-UML Kaski on Friday, Chairman Oli announced his intention to remain active in politics for another 20 years to further advance the country on the right path.

“CPN-UML is now in a new political scenario. But the party exists. The party has its own policies. The party has its own goals. Without deviating from our goals and policies, in the current situation, it is essential to build national strength, lead the country towards good governance and development, and restore culture and cultural values,” Chairman Oli said. He added, “In the past, someone used to think of a Nepal without CPN-UML, and someone used to think of a Nepal without K.P. Oli. But now, such thoughts won't work – I have said this before, 'Even if the jungle turns dark, I've ploughed my own field. This is not a planted crop; I've sown it myself. In assurance of foreign employment, four Pakistani citizens have been arrested in Nepal for trafficking Sri Lankan nationals to Nepal and making them hostages.

They were apprehended by the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Crime Investigation Division. The detainees include 57-year-old Juber Amjad from Rawalpindi, 42-year-old Shah Jehan Tanvir from Gujranwala, 61-year-old Malik Abdul Hamid, and 44-year-old Arif Maseeh.

In the ongoing fake visa case, another individual, Vinod Karki, a 45-year-old operator of City Tours and Travels residing in Lalitpur's Mahalaxmi Municipality-4, Imadol, has been arrested for his involvement. Karki, based in Imadol, Lalitpur, operated City Tours and Travels. Using fake documents, he sent people abroad through Bhijit Visa, engaging in human trafficking. This was confirmed by Raviendra Regmi, Sub-Inspector of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police's Crime Investigation Division. Karki was arrested on December 5 from Balkhu, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal action at the Teku Police Office.

Concerns have risen regarding the fraudulent papers associated with Bhijit Visa and the youth planning to go abroad. From Ashoj 17, a total of 1513 documents, including 246 fake ones such as counterfeit +2 certificates, labor approvals, relationship certifications, police reports, and bank statements, have been seized by the Metropolitan International Airport Security Office. Authorities are investigating how individuals are using these fraudulent documents to send people abroad. Agents, consultancies, and travel agencies charge individuals from NPR 10,000 to NPR 15,000 for processing, and fees can go up to NPR 40,000 to NPR 55,000 for successful immigration.

The highest number of suicide cases was recorded in Pradesh 5 with 242 cases followed by Pradesh 1 with 186, Pradesh 3 with 162, and Pradesh 2 with 152. Sudur Pashim Pradesh recorded 115 deaths while Karnali saw 58 deaths. Likewise, Gandaki saw 121 and Kathmandu Valley saw 69 suicide cases during the period. In 2030, a Shahi Nepali Airlines plane from Biratnagar to Kathmandu was hijacked by three members of the Congress Shashtra Dal, and it was recovered in Farbijganj Bihar. The plane was carrying 3.6 million Nepali Rupees, the revenue of the Bank of Nepal. The aircraft is now housed in the BP Museum in Sundarijal.
